Top Five Motivational Books from My Stack

Life becomes a little simpler when you accept that as we pursue our goals, there will inevitably be challenges and barriers along the way. This is why a few extra sources of inspiration, such as motivational books, never hurt anyone.

Here are my top 5 best assortments of motivational books. A flamboyant to transform me into a motivational person.

1. Attitude is Everything

“Attitude is Everything “is a book based on Jeff Keller’s journey as a motivational speaker. Being a lawyer, he decides to make a gradual transition and start working as a full-time motivational orator.

This book consists of a quick and short read (144 pages). The author has used simple language.

When reading Jeff Keller’s Attitude is Everything, I felt it to be a well-put outline of a portion of the notable self-improvement guides ever. The author openly gives credit for the well-known personalities from whom he has extracted opinions — such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Napoleon Hill, Winston Churchill, and many more — while sharing his principles.

As people, we tend to focus on the negatives in life. This negative outlook impacts those you complain to as well as your own beliefs and subsequent actions. This negative mindset and activity prevent you from reaching your goals.

So, this book will assist you with handling a wide range of internal antagonism and being positive through self-Attitude. It portrays how you can outfit the force of your mentality to arrive at your life objectives.

“Life doesn’t reward those who refuse to expose themselves to difficulties and challenges.”

2. Ikigai: The Japanese secret to a long and happy life

The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life, written by Francesc Miralles and Hector Garcia Puigcerver, discusses this idea from the author’s visit to a town in Japan called Okinawa, home to the largest population of centenarians in the world.

This book explains on a daily dosage how to embrace and obtain a healthier and happier way of life through discovering our Ikigai with experiences, practices, and tips for a sophisticated yet harmonious lifestyle.

Ikigai is a combination of your passion, your mission, and your profession. This book answers some basic questions as to why some people keep doing what they have been doing for years tirelessly even though it’s the same things over and over again.

“Walk slowly and you’ll go far”

3. How to Be a Bawse: A Guide to Conquering Life

From actress, comedian, and YouTube sensation Lilly Singh (aka Superwoman) comes the definitive guide to being a Bawse — a person who exudes confidence, reaches goals, gets hurt efficiently, and smiles genuinely because they’ve fought through it all and made it out the other side.

Told in her hilarious, bold voice that’s inspired over nine million fans, and using stories from her own life to illustrate her message, Lilly proves that there are no shortcuts to success.

It is a self-help book that helps you tread effectively on the path to survival and success.

The book consists of 50 chapters which are clubbed into 4 categories — Master Your Mind, Hustle Harder, Make Heads Turn, and Be a Unicorn. At the end of each of these parts, there is an interesting section called “Out of the Blue” where Lilly tells us a little about her coming out of her own “blues”.

The book is as entertaining as it is helpful and makes it such a winner. The writing comes with the signature camaraderie for which Lilly is so known.

“Think of discomfort as currency- it’s the price you pay to learn some pretty crucial things”

4. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck

For decades, we’ve been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. “F**k positivity,” Mark Manson says. “Let’s be honest, shit is f**ked and we have to live with it.” In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn’t sugar-coat or equivocate. He tells it like it is — a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is his antidote to the coddling, let’s-all-feel-good mindset that has infected American society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

There are only so many things we can give a f**k about so we need to figure out which ones really matter, Manson makes clear. While money is nice, caring about what you do with your life is better, because true wealth is about experience. A much-needed grab-you-by-the-shoulders-and-look-you-in-the-eye moment of real-talk, filled with entertaining stories and profane, ruthless humor.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is a refreshing slap for a generation to help them lead contented, grounded lives.

“The desire for more positive experience is itself a negative experience. And, paradoxically, the acceptance of one’s negative experience is itself a positive experience”

5. Turning Points: A Journey Through Challenges

Turning Points takes up the incredible A.P.J Abdul Kalam story from where Wings of Fire left off. It brings together details from his career and presidency that are not generally known as he speaks out for the first time on certain points of controversy. It is a continuing saga, above all, of a journey — individual and collective — that will take India to 2020 and beyond as a developed nation.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was an aerospace scientist who won Bharat Ratna for his Scientific achievements (The highest Civilian award of India), Politician who became the 11th President of India, the ceremonial head of State. He achieved the best in whatever he did and is revered by everyone alike.

If you ask any young student in India about their role models, one of the first names you might hear will be that of Kalam. It is not only because of his outstanding achievements in all the areas he worked in but also due to his extraordinary character and humility, and the ability to treat everyone alike. This book explores why most of us who are capable of achieving the best are settling for something average.

“The ignited mind of the youth is the most powerful resource on the earth, above the earth and under the earth”

Look for an author that makes you feel empowered,” says Schroeder. “Do a little research. There are self-help books on almost any topic, and finding an author that resonates with you is key.”

Happy reading and stay motivated!
